What FareOf was up against
Mainstream email verification APIs charge per verification, which forces customers to either overpay at small scale or throttle their growth at scale. FareOf's founders wanted to disrupt the category with an unlimited-verification flat rate — $40/month — and pair it with a 100M+ lead database. The economics only work if the verification engine is lean, the rate limiter is smart, and the infra cost per verification is pushed close to zero. No in-house engineering to build it.
What we built
We built the whole product: the verification engine (syntax check, MX lookup, disposable-domain detection, SMTP handshake probing, catch-all detection, role-account classification), the 15-emails/minute smart-rate throttle, the REST API with token auth and per-tenant quotas, the 100M+ lead database with search and filtering, the developer portal and docs, subscription billing, and a customer dashboard with verification history and CSV bulk upload. All on a cost-tight stack tuned for per-verification cost.
